Malta’s ambassador to Finland has resigned right after evaluating German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, local media say.
Michael Zammit Tabona reportedly wrote on his Fb web site: “Seventy-five yrs ago we stopped Hitler. Who will end Angela Merkel? She has fulfilled Hitler’s dream! To manage Europe.”

Maltese Overseas Minister Evarist Bartolo claimed Germany would acquire an apology, the Situations of Malta stories.
Mr Bartolo explained to the newspaper that he experienced instructed the ambassador to take away the remark “as before long as I was alerted to it”.
Mr Zammit Tabona, who turned Malta’s ambassador in Finland in 2014, has so far produced no remark on the row.
He is described to be a political appointee – not a job diplomat.
